Contracts- docking a vessel to a previously-launched vessel- does it invalidate the contract?

Recommended Posts

So I have a big mothership in orbit, and in addition to exploration and asteroid redirection I want to use it to tug refueling/research bases to low-gravity worlds around the solar system (I have one on Minimus and want to expand to at least Gilly, Ike, and Bop). The refueling bases DO have an engine and will land themselves once released from the orbiting mothership. To pay for this, I want the refueling bases to fulfill "new surface base" contracts. The question is, do I invalidate the contract once I dock my new surface base to my previously-launched mothership?

Likewise, if I launch a new satellite, and dock it to a previously-launched transfer stage, does the "new satellite in orbit around XXX" contract get invalidated for the new satellite?

I did have a similar problem when trying to get credit for returning to Kerbin from the surface of Eve; I docked the final ascent stage of my Eve lander to a mothership which tugged it back to low Kerbin orbit, and when I landed my final Eve ascent stage, I didn't get credit for recovering a vessel from the surface of Eve :( So I'm wondering if the same annoying crap applies here. I KNOW I COULD FIND OUT, if I want to risk a high possibility of totally wasting a few hours when I find out my new surface base doesn't actually count as a new surface base :( I was hoping you guys could help me avoid that possibility.
