Game stutters every 10 seconds

It seems that the game is stuttering every 5-10 seconds no matter what kind of craft I have loaded. I think it has something to do with garbage collection, as the allocated memory drops by a few MB every time the stutter occurs.

I believe I have found the culprit: Atmospheric Sound Enhancement. It must be incompatible with some of my mods. I'm so glad I have CKAN, it makes testing to see what breaks things so much easier.

Probably Smokescreen, I had it do it as part of the Realism Overhaul pack. Opening Smokescreen's config I could see the particle count periodically drop and that was exactly in sync with the severe stutter.

I suggest removal of SmokeScreen and see if your issue is fixed

It's a known issue but there's not always a good fix :-( This happened to me for awhile too, even with no mods. I updated the NVidia driver (i use Ubuntu) recently and the problem as somewhat cleared up.
