No SAS message.

Hello.

I have a rocket, equipped with a command module and a pilot.

However, when I try to engage SAS i get a message ""Shipname" as no operational SAS Modules and o |pilots onboard. Cannot engage SAS."

I get this message both prior to launch, while inflight and back on the ground.

Am I doing something wrong?

The only thing you're doing wrong is that you're not reading the message. The message states you don't have a pilot on board. A scientist or engineer Kerbal is not a pilot.

Yep, unless you're playing sandbox any Kerbal that isn't a pilot won't have any SAS functions available.
