No orbit shown in map view

Recommended Posts

I launch a spacecraft and switch to the map view (M), however there is no orbit indication on it. No spacecraft symbol too...

If I switch to the Satellite Center and go to the tracking station the spacecraft isn't listed also.

Top center of the screen. Open the pull-down menu and select the appropriate craft type.

That's the second time today I answered one of your questions.

Red hot! Kachow! :D

I can only add, the pulldown menu doesn't seem to work during an active flight, I always have to return to the Tracking Centre to select or deselect a different craft type.

In the map view, bring up the navball; the pull-down menu will magically start working.

Pausing by hitting ESC and then immediately resuming also works.

Did that work once nav ball was up? i thought you had to change it back in the tracking station

Yes, it works for me every time. The pull-down menu does not work while flying a ship in the map view (it appears, but clicking the different types of ship does nothing) until you either pause and resume, or bring up the navball. Then it works properly, and you can enable and disable the display of different classes of ship right there in the map view, without having to go back to the tracking station.

I originally discovered the pause technique by accident and used that for a while, then I saw a Scott Manley video where he accidentally discovered the navball trick. He concluded that the navball had to be open for the pull-down menu to work, but actually once it is working it stays working, even if you put the navball back down.
