Can't Rest trim

Recommended Posts

Why can't I reset my trim? If I use Alt - X it resets time compression (which isn't on in the first place) but doesn't reset trim. If I manually reset trim to as close to 0 as I can get it (which is never absolute zero) and then use Alt - X, it resets back to the out of balance position it was in before I manually adjusted it.

I read somewhere that ASA has to be turned off. - Did it. - Doesn't matter.

This is driving me nuts! I need to remap the trim reset key or find some other way to reset trim back to absolute 0.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It resets trim for me. I do recall one mod making X stop timewarp, might have been alarm clock or KER, but that didn't stop trim behaving.

SAS doesn't have to be off to reset trim, but it does have to be off to SEE your trim setting. If SAS is on you'll instead see what its inputs are.

Mechjeb may also be making control inputs from any of its myriad tools, so do check that.

I'm pretty sure it's Kerbal Alarm Clock that has the option of killing time warp on killing the throttle (x key). It doesn't take into account that you might not have any time warp going. You should be able to turn it off in the KAC settings if it is annoying.

To add to the above (that you can't see the trim if someone or something is making control inputs e.g. if Mechjeb is flying) do you have a joystick or other flight controller that might not be centred properly? Random thought: can Mechjeb adjust the trim itself?
