Back in the souposphere I built a replica of the Corvette from Miyazaki's Nausicaa. I spent a long time working on it, and went through something like seven design iterations, before I finally arrived at a craft that could lift off the ground.

Here's what the Corvette is supposed to look like:

And here's what it looked like seven versions later, when it could finally take off:

It's amazing that it flew at all, but that being said, it didn't fly very well. And again, this was built in the days of the souposphere, so I doubt I could get a design like this to work now. Might be worth a shot, though!
