Stupid question...

I haven't been around in a while so bear with me if this question has been answered recently(I searched and found nothing). I seem to recall a mod that extended the max draw distance for physics objects and I've seen some stuff in video's that indicates it still works/exists. In the same video someone had scaled up some parts to near death star scale and had them rendering at a great distance, basically LKO distance.

If this is true would it be possible to make a small thin part and scale it up and attach it to some launch stability enhancers to make the "tether" of a space elevator? Is there a limitation that prevents this?

BDArmory has physics range extension. You can set it to whatever you want, and as long as it isn't a landed vessel it'll load it at that range.

I believe you are talking about SWDennis/Spacescumbag's video where he took some welded art pieces and hyper-edited them to LKO.

However there is a limitation to space elevators that makes them impossible. Landed craft can only be reliably loaded at ~11km, any further and they fall through the ground. A space elevator that actually rested on the ground would likely get really wonky past 11km.
