IRLaser Pointer Mod?

It occurred to me as I was watching a Kerbin satellite scoot over the poles for my last missing Tundra & Polar Gravioli biomes that it would be nice if I could see a single tiny pixel of red light on the planet illustrating exactly what area the satellite was passing over.

Would such a mod be possible, and does such a mod exist? Perhaps it would need a toggle, so-as to not be persistent or seem to represent a point of light one could actually see.

I don't make a lot satellites, but I would enjoy a part that would do that for manned missions. Maybe post A request over in the add-ons.

You could make a SCANsat part that scans it, and it would show the area it shows, just make the scanning area 1 degree or less, it would show a green line under it.

Hmm... I haven't actually launched a ScanSat yet- not too keen on the whole Ore thing (yet), so figured I had no use for them. Launching one was next on my to-do list just for experimentation though. I will try this...
