TheMunRules#1
Okay so I was playing around with SRBs as missiles and noticed that most the time they separate and just spin out of control. So I started playing around with them and figured out that if you put an avionics unit on the front of them and add some wings they will fly really straight every time... You don\'t even have to activate the avionics package, just having it will make them fly straight.http://youtu.be/UCcgr5uItzQ
Ydoow
Huh. I wonder if that\'s a glitch where they activate upon release?
Ascensiam
This looks more like an arsenal of suicide drones.
Ted
Finally after so long looking for a way to do stock(ish) missiles! Just tested this, it works extremely well, now we just need some targets..Thanks!
Mr_Orion
Huh. I wonder if that\'s a glitch where they activate upon release?Nah, there\'s nothing for the avionics package to control; no control surfaces, RCS, pod torque, any of that. It just serves to weight the front down which stops it doing backflips.
mockingking
I also suspect it might be the wings that do the stabilising there.
Ted
I also suspect it might be the wings that do the stabilising there.I tested it out using the stock SRBs and no wings, works just as well as it does in the video.
Twinky827
Huh. I wonder if that\'s a glitch where they activate upon release?Actually, you can edit parts to do that. Parachutes do it, and are meant to.
vexx32
Now, all we need is to be able to pack a few nuclear explosives in them instead of fuel.
robsr3v3ng3
one of the easiest ways to make missiles fly straight is to add the small fins that you get with the missile pack to the back and near the front. If you place them right they\'ll fly pretty straight.
TheMunRules#1
See I tested a few with and without avionics. I never considered it might be the weight. They just seemed to magically fly really straight with the avionics on the front. interesting.
