Spacecraft spinning for no reason? [ANSWERED]

Recommended Posts

Try pressing Alt+X (assuming you're on Windows, mod key corresponding to your OS otherwise) to reset the trim. If you pressed Alt+W/A/S/D at some point your craft will rotate by itself: it is toggled off by activating SAS but comes back when you deactivate it. Alt+X resets it so your craft should stop rotating.

Also, some clipping can cause your craft to behave strangely, including making it rotate, but seeing you have no visible part clipping, this is unlikely.

Well, the Kerbal isn't a pilot, I just rescued her and sent Jeb down to Ike. As for Alt + X, do I do that anywhere on with KSP running?

Yes, Alt+X is a KSP command, just like bringing the debug menu (Alt+F12) or switching to map view (M). If you try to press it without KSP running it won't work: if your issue is indeed the trim, then only this ship in particular will rotate, so you'll have to press Alt+X when controlling it.

It worked a small bit, butt it's still spinning slowly.

Honestly, I don't think the spinning matters, because it's not getting worse, and I don't need that until Jeb comes back from the surface from Ike, and he can stop the spin with SAS. But still, It is weird...

Smashing Kirby,

you can always temporarily arrest the spin by hitting the period then comma. The jump into time warp stops the tumbling, but I'm sure it will build back up over time.

Best,

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. It doesn't matter though, I completed the mission none the less. :D
