Hey everyone!

As the current laptop I am using is literately falling apart I've come to the conclusion I need a new one.

Also I've faced the fact that the only game I play on a consistent basis in the last two years is KSP.

So I'm looking for something that's in the $2000-$2500 range, if anyone has any recommendations I'd greatly appreciate it.

or should i just wait for the update to 1.1 and get out the duct tape to keep this thing together for a bit longer?

Thanks everyone!

Sure you want only a laptop? For that money you can get a decent laptop (good enough for modded KSP but also somehow portable) and a very good PC, that would play KSP better than any laptop ever could...

Definitely go with a gaming laptop like Alienware here is one on amazon. I currently have a mac but will be going back to windows. Most of the developement projec ts im working on required windows anyways. Mac, great for video and music editing.

We do heavy development and this is a great product. Depending on your needs it should work well.

I have a Toshiba Satellite with an Intel i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM (expandable to 16 gigs) 750 GB Hardrive, backlit keyboard, disk drive (surprisingly, not many laptops still have them) for about $600. It can run KSP well even after I've modded it to hell and gone. I love my laptop, and my laptop loves me.

The reason I got such a good machine for so cheap was that I didn't get any unnecessary features. Touch screen, solid state hardrive, detachable screen, etc. is all pretty useless to me, so I didn't get a computer with those things, and therefore didn't have to pay for them, which means I got a good laptop for a great price. Keep that in mind.

Also, I've heard that the Intel i5 is better for gaming since it has a higher speed.

Do you really need a laptop? Laptops and gaming are a bad marriage. If you really need mobility, you might consider keeping your current laptop for light laptop tasks and buying a beefy home system for some gaming power.

Gaming on laptops always is an expensive, huge compromise.
