Phoenix 1 Failure

[Voyager275]

*Mission Control, United States of Kerbica*

"Is the satellite ready?" Gene asked as he looked at a picture on the wall.

"Ves is it." Werhner said. "Too bad Voyager Nation got their satellite up virst."

"Let us not dwell on Sentinel 1, Phoenix 1 has much more science after all."

"Very vell, let us launch the satellite."

*Launchpad 1*

"Flight controllers, give me a go/no go for launch." Gene said in his business voice.

"Booster?"

"Go"

"Guidance?"

"Go flight"

"Fairings?"

"We are go"

"Electrical?"

"Go!"

"We are go for launch, t-2 minutes and counting" Gene said into the microphone

Gene looked at the rocket, having a bad feeling

"Lift-off of Phoenix 1!" The announcer yelled enthusiastically.

*1 minute and 27 seconds into flight, a computer error caused the second stage to activate, destroying the Horizon rocket*

"We have had an anomaly, looking into status of the mission." Booster said into the microphone, even though they knew it was over.

*Pieces rained down for 5 minutes after the explosion, United States of Kerbica would have too wait to join in with Voyager Nation in orbit*
