They are static models. It might be possible to change the texture on the building but you can't change the collision mesh it uses and you certainly can't move it. The model is built into the game rather than loaded from a mu file like parts.

That might not be true, lens flares for the sun are "baked into the game" in the sharedassets files, I would not be surprised if ksc was in there too.

Lens flares aren't collision meshes. You can't run into a lens flare.

But hey, I'm not an expert on the subject so I'm not saying you are wrong either. If you can make it happen, more power to you.

I agree with Alshain. Knowing Unity, you can't really change static models. I'm positive, though, that you can move the KSC. Look at KSC switcher. The real issue is changing the models entirely. I do think that you might be able to move the transforms of game objects. I don't quite know how, but you might be able to do that, and move, say, the VAB into the ground, and spawn your own model there.
