Floaties and airbags

I have been using Roverdude's mod "USI Survivability Pack" which includes airbags and floaties. The more I use them, the more I come to the conclusion that these parts should be included in a stock KSP install. Airbags have been used in several Mars landers. Floaties have been used in lots of craft that land in the water when they return to earth. These are parts that provide a different option to landing gear and an accessory to parachutes.

Airbags: I agree

Floaties: i don't know if they are necessary? The pods are floating, aren't they? I haven't landed bigger ships and don't know if they sink. If not, floaties would just be a visual and not practical part which I find less attractive than other stuff they can focus on first.

In the long run I think floaties should be added to stock.

They should add Lighter-Than-Air parts because steampunk and blimps and because then I won't have to screw around with firspitter parts to fail at a helicopter. I just want my steampunk stuff and to do that scence from apocalypse now with the ride of the Valkyries.

I want the firespitter mod for a different reason. I like the fuel switch function that allows fuel tanks to be switched between different fuels or even to structural parts with no fuel at all.

Wait, you can do that with firspitter? woah. I might re install it. maybe. if I ever use NERVs. But I haven't gotten interplanetary yet, so not much need to.
