ISS passing across Moon

Hello, I am currently doing an astronomy course - for our coursework, we need to perform an aided and unaided observation. For the aided observation, I plan to get photos of the ISS passing over the surface of the Moon, to be able to calculate orbital speed, altitude and the like. Does anyone have a good source that tells you when the ISS and Moon intercept?

Thanks in advance

It happens once every few days, I think.

EDIT: Looked on calsky.com, apparently it won't pass in front of the Moon from anywhere in N. America or Europe tonight, and transits generally only last for about 2 seconds or less, which means you need to be very precise at these sorts of things.

Won't pass in front of the Moon in Europe for at least another week, will only happen for me maybe once.

You might be interested in this story of an amateur catching the ISS transiting the Moon last summer.

I'm not sure if it's current, but there is a tool for calculating when such transits occur. Snipped potentially bad link.

Calsky is arguably better, you can even see if it'll transit Pluto.

Now that would be cool!

Don't click the photo at the top of that page. It leads to a site that contains trojans.

Heh, you hit a reply just when I realized I copied the wrong one. It's on the sourceforge link. Methinks someone didn't renew their domain and now it redirects to baaad mojo.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
