Docking ports will NOT connect in VAB

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to build parts to start making a Mun base and I can't connect ANY docking ports using the sub assembly option to test them out. It seems I'm having a lot of trouble in VAB with certain parts not connecting. I always have to scratch a project and move on to the next because of this. It's getting really annoying and I'm starting to think I wasted $40 on this game. I have Interstellar Lite, IXS core, Module Manager, Enhanced enviromental, KW rocketry, Aerospace, Firespitter, KASA, Near Future Propulsion, Texture Replacer and Community Resource Pack.

Any help?

Welcome aboard!

I have found that subassemblies are very sensitive to which part is the root part. Not sure if you are doing this already, but when you have built your subassembly attach a part on top of the docking port, then reroot the craft from that part, then grab the docking port below and save that as the subassembly. This should allow the subassembly to attach by the port.

Also, I moved this thread over to Gameplay Questions and Tutorials, lots of helpful people here. :)

Uninstall those and get used to how the game works first. All the rest certainly add a lot, but if you can't control the beast as it comes they're just more confusion and complication you don't need. Before you think you've wasted $40, consider what the rest of us have learnt to do. You can do it if you stick with it :-) (Still 40 Hong Kong dollars isn't a huge amount to spend, even if you can't get on with the game. Keep smiling).
