Tips for using Google Sketchup?

Recommended Posts

I\'m not entirely sure for Sketchup, however I suggest importing into Unity; this way you can set any mesh as a collider simply by assigning it a mesh collider component. Also iirc someone said that Sketchup uses double sided meshes/polys and you should delete the ones on the inside.

The main problem with using SkecthUp, even the pro version, it that it doesn\'t support .DAE export, so you will have to load into another program like Blender in order to get a usable model.

Or get the .DAE exporter program for sketchup.

I tried that and it didn\'t work with my copy of SketchUp Pro >:(

I\'m not really familiar enough with the whole process to know if there is anything else you need other than .DAE export. I do know you also need to be able to do UV wrapping to texture your parts.
