Editing the in game date

I was wondering if anybody knew how to change the in game date through the persistant file. On one of my saves I accidentally left it on with a high timewarp; Ive passed year 1000, and its ugly to me, so I wanted to know if anybody knew an easy way to find the part of the persistant file that contains the date

FLIGHTSTATE section, UT value is what you want. It seems in seconds, and I don't know by manually changing the value how it will impact your current flights.

It wont change the flights, I just wanted to change the number itself.

Something about the amount of time I accidentally timewarped to is very annoying to look at. lol.

All the planets will jump to some other position on their orbits. Scott Manley did this hack while he was putting his own asteroid on a Kerbin collision course a couple of years ago. He had to do some calculations to ensure that the UT time value was correct.

It's a bit old now but I think the technique is still valid.
