Ksp bug?

Recommended Posts

So all objects are moving away from me, refer to picture.

However orbit shows 1 thing, Im physically moving in a different direction.

Says sun AP 256 days, PE 157 days, however Im physically moving towards AP first and PE last.

Really bugged map UI

The prograde marker on the maneuver node indicates different than the text on the image suggests. You are moving in the same direction as the planets. The ship in the middle of the screen is certainly past it's Ap.

However, the planet is moving faster than you since it is in a lower orbit. That may be where you are getting confused. You are still traveling in the same direction but the gap between you is increasing.

I think you are mistaken. Your ship is moving in the same direction as Kerbin, just more slowly. The Navball actually shows that your prograde vector is facing east (relative to Kerbol).

Keep in mind that Kerbin orbits Kerbol with an average velocity of about 9.3 km/s, and that you'd have the same velocity when reaching the border of Kerbin's sphere of influence if you had burnt exactly to escape velocity.

This makes sense.

But its really confusing because the speed that shows changes when you change orbits, since kerbin is at 9k m/s orbit around the sun and im at 7k m/s Im still moving in the same direction around the sun just 7k m/s slower that I would on kerbin.

Riiight.

There should be a way to change which orbital object we want to refer our speed to!
