SLS Block 1 Crew: 70t to LKO!

How is it the Block 1 if it has Pyrios boosters and some sort of Exploration upper stage crossed with the Block 1 upper stage? I'd resize the Kickbacks up a bit (tweakscale?), have that as a separate download and do your magic, this does look very nice however.

Those aren't Pyrios boosters, they're weird little fake 2.5 SRMs that I made by making a shell of empty 2.5 fuel tanks, sticking a quadcoupler at the bottom, then offsetting all four boosters into the fuel tanks after making sure to strut EVERYTHING. If those were Pyrios boosters, they would actually be made out of the Twin-Boars and be orange and black and white. I'm very intentional about coloring things in KSP.

And here's a quick guide to the SLS uppers:

Block 1: Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage. Powered by one RL10, is simply the top half of a Delta slapped on to the stack.

Block 1B: Exploration Upper Stage. Powered by two RL10s, actually fits the stack diameter.

Block 2: Still the Exploration Upper Stage.

Okay, glad you made me look that up to prove you wrong. Seems that I was completely wrong about the upper stages, the picture I had used as reference included the Earth Departure Stage in the Block 2, which was actually not used. And now I'm looking over the Wikipedia article, and the advanced booster I was planning on using.... actually wouldn't come into service. The Advanced Booster contest was actually won by Aerojet Rocketdyne with its triple-AJ1E6 offering, though good words were said about the Pyrios, which would actually increase the SLS' LEO payload to 150t. I was mistakenly using the Dark Knight booster that Orbital ATK offers, which would be able to deliver less payload.

I owe you one, dude. You've pointed out a glaring error and led me to a bunch more, so I've got a near-total rebuild of the boosters and uppers to do.

Which is actually cool because I was actually wondering what on earth I was going to do in KSP today.

legoclone09, Your Wernher von Braun quote isn't accurate. You should probably get the quote right if you are gonna put quotation marks around it.

Really? I got it from here. That's goodreads. com, by the way.

Oh wow! I knew something was off on the upper stage.

Update: I've got a working version of the SLS Block I Crew now, as well as an accurate Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage that DEFINITELY works, and a Block IB is currently in testing. And, if I recall correctly, I managed to get a 110t test payload juuust barely into orbit with the prototype Block II with two Pyrios strap-ons, as attempting to go for the Aerojet booster only ended in pain, but since I'm packing to go back to college from my parent's over fall break, I don't have time to post it. Ah well, I kinda wanted to make a JIMO (Jool Icy Moons Orbiter) for the Block 1B anyway.
