In the year 2205 - ANNO 2205 Discussion Thread

Today, I received my pre-ordered copy of ANNO 2205, and I´m very happy about it! Who else in the KSP community plays/wants to play this awesome game? Have you already colonized the Mun Moon? I can imagine all the spacy stuff can be very interesting for KSP players. I started playing ANNO on the Wii, and have played 1404, 2070 and now 2205 so far. Tell me about your experiences with ANNO 2205 or ANNO in general!

Welp, I have anno 2070. I really want to play 2205, but I just don't have the money or time. Wonder what happens after 2070 that leads to the event of 2205.

I played anno 1602, which was really fun. Then I bought 2070 and realized I can't run it. Bummer. 2205 looks really cool though.

only played 2070 completed all scenario but one there, new one look gorgeous might try it sooner or later if i find time too ; )

As far as I understood it, the "Arctic Custodians" built Climate Stabilisators in the Arctic that keep the temperature below zero, stopping melting of the Ice. After the Global Union (Earth´s government) had formed it started colonizing the moon with a company called LEC (Lunar Excavation Company), but it was slow and unprofitable. In 2205 now, the GU wants private firms (players) to start a second colonization wave.

The current inhabitants of the Mun don´t like this and form the militant "Orbital Watch" wich instantly starts destroying the climate stabilisators to blackmail earth. And now it´s the players turn....

Which one did you miss? I wasn´t able to do that Oil thing, as I didn´t find any players to do it with me... And yes, it looks gorgeous. Looks gorgeous. Ubisoft really excelled themselves with the graphics again... handmade islands, camera drives, night-day changes, all kind of animals .... you´ll love it!!

How is the game play out of the box? Any game braking bugs that need fixing? I picked up 2070 and enjoyed it. I was ready to pre-order 2205 to get in on the beta, but then they pulled that offer, so I didn't pre-order.

ANNO is mostly a economy simulation, you build your own cities and factories to give your inhabitants the goods they need. You had RTS elements in your world in all ANNOs so far but 2205. Here the combat has been moved to special RTS-like combat maps. The diffictulty depends on what you want to reach. Simple survival is easy (I started playing when I was 8 years old), but if you want a perfectly tuned effiecendy machine, you´ll need lots of skill in managing goods, logistic and workforce, filling your islands to the last tile and also some RTS skills.

ANNO, in my opinion, is the best strategy game ever made. You can produce things, you have to supplie your inhabitants and manage your factories, you can fight enemies - or do things for them in order to keep them friendly. You have lots of freedom, and you can spend hours over hours ingame.

And I can´t believe you didn´t find anything on google - wikipedia tells you alot already and ANNO is one of the most famous strategy games ever made.

I can tell you that pre-order wasn´t worth it at all. It costs as much as if you´d buy it at the next games shop, and the command ship skin you get extra can only be differed from the standard one in highest zoom level. Only advatage was that I got it brought right to my door at November 3rd.

in fact was speaking of one of the annexe extra mission, i bought it on the late with a all dlc bundle.

So the only one i not completed is the extra mission involving Keto and the Anaconda, i not pushed myself to complete this one after completing all other stuff. ; )

But especially appreciating this game for the "micromanagement simultaneous ,timed or not, layers". So the "look gorgeous" ; ) graphic are just a minor plus to me, of course the art is amazing same as lore and is always appreciated ; ) so when irl is less complicated i might try 2205 too.
