Craft jump up about 10 meters on loading a saved game

Recommended Posts

Ok getting old; every time I load a saved game, or send a vehicle from the SPH to the runway, the craft will drop from a altitude of about 5 meters above the runway, bounce ten meters up, then come crashing back down. For aircraft, this means parts all over the runway and for rovers, four flat tires. Any suggestions?

If your not aversed to modding, you could trying to install Kerbal Joint Reinforcement:

Slowly dials up external forces (gravity, centrifugal, coriolis) when on the surface of a planet, reducing the initial stress during loading.

All parts and joints are strengthened heavily during physics loading (coming off of rails) to prevent Kraken attacks on ships

I've got this mod and my planes still drop onto the runway from a height of about one meter. They don't break, though.

Nope, not opposed to mods at all. I believe I have 25, including KJR. The thing that irritates is that rover wheels do not do well with the drop. Then there's the bounce where the rover will jump up after it hits the ground. Sometimes the rover will flip over and explode while other times, I just end up with damaged tired. Sad, but true. Yeah, I could actually send an engineer and a scooter out to repair the rover wheels, and I did for the first couple of weeks, but it's now just an irritant.

I'm getting this, sometimes, too. I end up hacking gravity then reverting. After the scene reloads I unhack gravity and everything is fine.

I was hoping not to have to go that route... but if all else fails, thanks for the reminder of that hack! :P
