I do find it funny that Apollo 13 had all of this stigma attached to it because of the 13 and then it actually does end up being a failed mission.

Have not fulfilled the main objective of the mission is landing on the moon, the only "success" that they have is that they miraculously managed to survive it

I literally had to re-read the title a few times in order to decipher the message... Would you please mind to edit the title ? I suggest something along the lines of "how will NASA number SLS missions and will they include "13"?"

On topic, i guess there won't be 13 manned SLS missions in the very next years... No need to bother. Anyway i don't think that NASA engineers count their steps and wear tinfoils hats, 13 is 13 and that's it.

I literally had to re-read the title 3 times in order to decipher the message. (But english isn't my first language so maybe it's me) Is this the KSP forum or a Call of Duty fanboys forum ? I'm not sure anymore.

Pawelk198604's first language isn't English either, obviously... how does that give you the right to write something like that? Seek maturity in yourself before you seek it in other people.

On topic: Are SLS missions even numbered SLS-x? I think so far we have EM-1 and EM-2, but those are mission names for the Orion capsule. I'm not sure if the booster gets its own mission counter. If someone knows more, please enlighten me :)

I realize that's a bit too much. Didn't mean to sound so aggressive, i'll edit my post. Still, i strongly suggest the use of Google translate to the OP for future posts.

About your question, i'm pretty sure that it's usually the spaceship and not the launcher that gives it's name to the mission. STS just occured to be the whole ship... It's the case for Apollo for example... (Probably a lot of other missions). That could change for SLS though...
