Because your computer is part of the world. Is it not somewhat of an oxymoron/paradox to have a system within a system which is capable of exactly recreating the system in which it exists?

If your computer lags from the terrain, Delete your settings.cfg file, And then put this in it\'s place, It adds an extra level of detail called 'very low' which brings the ocean back to the way it was in 0.13. Did the trick for me.
