How do you pronounce "Mun?"

I don\'t even know how to react.

I am like, 200km away from Berlin, and i hope you realize ü = y.

Mün is pronounced \'\'Myn\'\' which is why, in the game, it\'s called Mun, which in my accent/language, is the exact same as moon.

Think about it, über is not \'\'oober\'\', it\'s \'\'yber\'\'.

As a German person I get what you mean, but I think the \'ü\' is used as a so-called \'metal umlaut\' like in \'Motörhead\'. I also don\'t think a native English-speaker will get your example as I would pronounce 'yber' as 'eiber'.

By the way: (you don\'t have to answer) Are you from Germany?

The official name does include an umlaut, which is not exactly the same as either English pronunciation of a bare 'u'. Closette\'s Scottish accent trick is either very close or spot-on a proper umlaut. It\'s difficult to explain pronunciations let alone reproduce them, but from an English perspective you have to drive your throat and tongue through 'oo' like 'shoot' while simultaneously driving your lips through 'ee' like 'sheet'. Good luck spraining your face!

By the way, the unofficial official name of the Moon is its Latin name: Luna, its already used as its adjective form (lunar, not moonar)

You know who calls it Luna? Neil Armstrong. I figure he\'s got as much a right as anyone to give the thing a name . . .

I was reading an interview with him where he talked about returning to 'Luna,' and it was fascinating. The only human being in all history who can claim such a personal relationship with that world.

I don\'t know exactly where it came about, but Mün is not the correct name; someone just started putting the umlaut over the U, and all of a sudden half the community is using it when it shouldn\'t be there...

Gratuitous umlats are always welcome when silliness is required, and I don\'t know if you realize this, but this is a VERY silly game. I mean that with the utmost respect for the devs . . . I have not had this much fun with a game in over a decade. Not even Portal has taken this much of my personal time.

Gratuitous umlauts become inordinately irksome when one takes several years of German classes...

Is it really that silly of a game?

This question\'s been bugging me for a while now, so I figured I\'d just post it here and see what you guys think.

What is the correct pronunciation of Mun? Is it pronounced the same way as 'Moon', or is it pronounced like 'Muhn', or what? I\'ve been pronouncing it as the former, but the second option seems to make more sense.

Jebediah Kerman asking how to pronounce 'Mun'? What has the world come to?
