Double-Click Windows while in IVA

Arguably even cooler: in the new mk1 cockpit double click the "docking mode" monitor and it will flip you to a station in the back of the pod with another nav ball and a window to use while docking spaceplanes.

No Way!! That's cool.

Yeah OP, that feature has been around a long time. When you've double clicked on a window; a)single clicking will lock your view, stop you panning about and B) you can use mouse-wheel to zoom.

There's an even cooler feature where double clicking the black space between the mk2 windows (while in IVA) (where the dash meets the front) your view flip 180 degrees so your in IVA mode but your looking backwards or otherwise RETROGRADE. Don't know how useful this is outside of cinimatics, but is cool.

That is cool. Maybe more people would know about this with some kind of, oh, I don't know... Documentation. Just an idea Squad... I'm not married to it.

They do have documentation, it's called the change log.

Who reads the change log? That's like reading instructions...

And as such any complaint you have is invalid. You'd be surprised what you'd see in there. There's a lot of extra extra extra hidden changes you wouldn't even know about.

I can tell the art of sarcasm has escaped you. Yes, I always read the change notes/devnotes when they come out. In fact, it is why I had the idea to completely delete my KSP folder and reinstall it afresh to prevent incompatible mod conflicts (I've been doing this since .22, as a recommendation from NathanKell, one of the Squad people).

Yeah, that docking window view is what made me sit up and wonder. Another thing; somehow I had a Mk1 cockpit and a Mk1 crew module, the two new parts, back to back. I double clicked the rear of the Mk1 cockpit somewhere and found my camera in the crew module.

If this is just a Connected Living Space thing, fair enough. But wouldn't it be a nice stock functionality to double-click hatches and travel from room to room on an internal tour?

That's smart and wise of you. The sarcasm did escape me since I'm used to communicating to people like this (link), who do one stupid thing and explode on Squad. So I apologize in that respect.

This has been discussed for quite some time, and there is a mod to allow for internal navigation (although I can't remember the mod's name).

I understand your frustration completely with those who want a mindless game. KSP is NOT the game for those who do not wish to:

  • Have patience and the ability to understand that failure is always an option.
  • Learn about physics.
  • Learn that sometimes the biggest craft or creation is not always the best.
  • Understand that "KISS" (Keep it simple, stupid!) is an acronym that can also be applied to KSP.
  • Learn how to plan a mission and design a craft to perform the required tasks on that mission.
  • Understand that the true reward of KSP is getting the data you needed while not killing your crew.
  • Have fun thinking outside the box.

Also, sarcasm is almost every American's second nature. We are sarcastic about everything; for this reason I added the  at the end of my statement as an indicator that I was being sarcastic. Another thing to remember about Americans is that we have the "I don't need no instructions" gene in our DNA. Let's just say that a few fried mother boards in the 1980s, along with reminder lessons in the '90s, ("hey, where did these extra parts come from") AND putting together a lot of plastic model kits as a youth taught me to ALWAYS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST. :D

So, with that said, no need to apologize for life is good! Cheers.

With that kind of user name, did you play a lot of Microsoft's Zoo Tycoon?

Your right in so many names :) .

And no, the username has basis in a giant RPGMMO that used to be the thing about 10 years ago (rep if you know what game Im referring to). Tbh, it was two words slammed together for no reason other than to fill the username box. The "Games" portion wasn't added until I came to the KSP community, mostly to give it a bit of shine... and also because I watched a lot of LPers (who are now extremely famous, but at the time they weren't (couple 100,000subs)).

Zoonamedgames: One of two games, possibly:

Zoomumba (my wife played it for a while) or My Free Zoo (had a colleague who played this during office hours). Am I anywhere close?

My user name is actually one I have used on every forum from SimCity2K, to Star Trek Online, to include various Steam games, and even an email address (now defunct).

Not even- hint. I have never played a Zoo related games. Reminder, the Zoo and Named portions were randomly chosen. They have no basis in any Zoo game. Hint- it was a medieval RPGMMO.

Lastly since we're drifting off topic, feel free to friend me on Steam (under the same name with the KMC logo as my profile pic) and we can continue this conversation there.
