KSP freezes and deletes craft

I was playing KSP version 1.0.5 (OS :64 bit Windows 10) and was building a craft for about an hour.

I made sure to press the save button many times, then I pressed the "go to runway" button and all of the action buttons greyed out, making it impossible to do anything. The SPH editor camera froze and I couldn't modify anything. I had to forcefully close down KSP and to my sad surprise, the craft I made sure to save was not there!

I am sad about this, I was working for such a long time and saved it and it somehow vanished?

Why should I even play KSP if my craft will just vanish for no reason despite saving it?

If it happens again, please keep a copy of the log file. We can't even begin to guess what happened without more information.

And I'm sorry you lost your work. I know that can be very frustrating.
