Moving asteroids

I'm looking to set up something similar to
Stratos 4.[SUP]Warning: TVTropes link[/SUP] A large number of large rocks inbound, threatening to turn the surface of Kerbin into glass.

I'm looking for a faster way to position a large number of rocks.

My current process is
1 hyper edit to rock
2 claw probe on to the rock.
3 set a nav point, adjust one axis to minimum Kerbin PE
4 hyperedit velocity to match
5 repeat steps 3 and 4 until collision is projected
6 cackle evilly
7 release from rock
8 wash rinse repeat
9 ???
10. profit

Are there any suggestions on how I can reduce the number of steps?

Even easier way: Just find one in the VAB, strap it to a big rocket, and put it wherever you want it! no hassle!

Here's how:http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/135414-Big-ol-secret-part-easter-egg%21

I would like to keep the trajectories as coming from Kerbol orbit. Both for visual reasons and beacuse 70+ class-E rocks coming in from inter planetary space is well... kind of grand scale challenge to hand that to somebody and say catch.

It sucks though that physics again trumps hollywood. It only takes 5-10m/s of dv to shift them to a safe distance.
