By far the best mun lander ever, the Z-12L-3 (stands for Zokesia type 12, Lander, Mk3) is a mun lander ship for low cost and low risk.

SPECS:

1st stage: 3 LV-T45 and 3 LV-T30 engines

2nd stage: 1 LV-T45 engine

3rd stage: LV-909 engine

Take off, accelerate straight until you lose the first three first stage engines, then jettison them. When the other three run out, jettison those and the 2nd stage will automatically kick in. DO NOT HIT SPACE TWICE OR YOU WILL LOSE THE SECOND STAGE! Keep going straight up until your path says you will intercept the mun. Warp to it, then at mun\'s Presapis, burn reverse until you are in orbit around the moon. To land, brake with the 2nd stage and the jettison it, then come down on the last stage.
