What is Reputation? The Forum Kind

What does giving somebody reputation on their post do? Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, Idk where to put questions about the forum.

It should be in Kerbal Network, but what it does is adds points, and at certain point levels, you get green bars added.

[COLOR=silver][SIZE=1]- - - Updated - - -[/SIZE][/COLOR]

After five dark green bars, you get light green bars.

[COLOR=silver][SIZE=1]- - - Updated - - -[/SIZE][/COLOR]

No, there is no way you can lose rep (except if a moderator takes it away from you, but unless you cheated it, this is not going to happen).

Some time ago, negative rep existed in the forum; but after a dark story involving the Nemesis of one of our beloved moderators, it was removed...

It's basically a nice way to say you like someone's post. There's no real benefit to having a lot, and no downside to giving it.

That's one of the best ways of summing up the entire rep system I've seen.
