Steam wont install 64 bit .exe

Recommended Posts

Just made a new windows 10 - 64 bit gaming machine with 16gigs of RAM and a GTX 970.

I am trying to get KSP with some mods, specifically Astronomer's Visual Pack. But it keeps crashing when I try to start the game up when KSP gets close to using 4 gigs of RAM. Turns out I am using 32 bit KSP. Saw that 1.05 is supposed to have a 64 bit .exe installed with it, but I do not have it. Have deleted and reinstalled numerous times but it still is not there.

Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not sure where you read that, but there currently isn't an officially supported 64-bit KSP version for Windows. There are too many stability issues with the Unity engine, so the 64-bit version is on hold. It "might" be in 1.1 when that arrives.

There is a community 64-bit hack, but results widely vary.
