Hey, I recently just bought a laptop on sale and I am wondering if it can run KSP (even on minimum settings) with little to no lag? I dont play alot of games but I play a lot of KSP so I really hope its good enough

It has the following:

-8 GB RAM
-2 TB HDD
-Intel Core i3-5020U

I know it does not meet the recommended specs but I believe it surpasses the minimum requirements.

You should be just fine. I've tested multiple versions of KSP on my old low-end laptop and the game plays just fine. Might have to slightly lower the graphics settings a tiny bit, but you should have no major problems. If it runs sluggish, close other running processes and/or lower settings.
I play it happily enough with an i3 with 4GB of RAM. It starts to lag noticeably at about 150 parts. I use tweakscale to keep part numbers down.
'An i3' is about as descriptive as 'a red car' when it comes to performance.
