Issue with the forums on Firefox.

When using firefox, there are some times when you can't post new threads, click the arrow where your profile is or change things from your profile.

In detail..
You click new post, enter the title and stuff, but you can't click on the text box for your post. It's just greyed out.
When you click the dropdown menu near your profile the url changes slightly and nothing loads.
When you go to change your banner on your profile, nothing happenes.

Firefox was working fine for me with the new forum, up until this morning. Now, I can't post replies in threads. Clicking the "Quote" button does nothing, and clicking into the quick-reply box also does nothing. I'm using Opera to write this.

And now it's working again.

I too have some nasty FireFox issues with the new crap forum.
When I click Unread Threads it works just fine. But when I scroll down and click 'Load More Activity' instead of doing what it promised (and what it used to do up until now) it just jumps to the top of the page.

And yes, my FireFox is up to date. And even if it wasn't, yesterday it worked. Now it doesn't.
(And it's not that there just aren't any more threads to display as it only shows activity from the last 20 to 30 minutes.)

Yup, same here.

I am sorry to hear you're suffering the same issues but I am glad I am not the only one. I was already 99% it wasn't an issue on my end, now I am 100% sure.

I have seen websites where this happens not just with adblock plus but with uBlock as well. First visit, comments will not show, reload and they will. Now, if I start Firefox in safe mode, issues disappear. Just sayin. Maybe not the issue with this forum, but worth trying to visit in safe mode to ensure that addons are not the problem first. And just so you know, I'm not trying to say anything bad about adblockers, if it was up to me, sites that do not support the correct functioning of adblockers would all die slow, horrible public deaths.

Mine works fine... Maybe it's not on your end but in between.

I NEVER had any such issues with ABP in this regard. Not on the old forum, not on this crap forum and not on any other forum. Why are we even discussing add blockers?

Didn't I already say it was NOT on my end?

Yes, but it's only your opinion. It could be the OS, it could be a program interfering, it could be in between, but the likelihood it's on server side is low, since others use Firefox and are just fine. There's too many failure modes to just blame Squad. A lot can happen to a signal while it travels.

a: It's not an opinion here, it's called the result of testing.
b: It's not, nothing has changed here and other sites worked fine in this period.
c: It's not, for the same reasons, also I don't have "programs interfering" - that's called "malware" or "CKAN".
d: Maybe, but highly unlikely - if something were mangling my traffic it's pretty far fetched that it would be so specific as to affect only one website, and only one feature within that site.
e: The likelihood of it being server-side is far higher than any of the other explanations, as again it's very specific and server side is where this such actions are differentiated. It's also the most complex part of the system as a whole. Not only that, but it's reliability in general has been somewhat questionable of late.

"It's probably your PC" is the number one excuse spouted by those who have no idea what they're talking about.

Anyway, it's working again... And I haven't changed anything - once more pointing to server-side issues. I'll just log it as another example of over-complicated SNS not working as expected.

On another note, I would have cut the quote up and replied in-line, but it's such a bear to do with this WYSIWYG thing it's not worth the time.

This isn't something that can be easily tested. It is probably your PC, since others, with very similar situations, have little to no problems. Not to say it's guaranteed of course. It's just more likely. It's also possible that there is malicious software, or just regular software that doesn't work well with it, and interferes. Or it could be between the user and server.

A: That is an opinion. Only some testing was done. And then it was stated to be a belief, or opinion.

B: Sometimes problems affect one site due to the methods/code it uses.

C: Problems interfering due happen, for the same reasons they don't

D: It's not that far fetched. The data had to go through many areas of the web, and some of them could corrupt it. Other sites, being in different locations, take a different route. Believe it or not, but data on line is actually stored somewhere.

E: It's low because others use it just fine.

Anyhow, these are all likelihoods.

Or maybe it is someone who knows what they're talkimg about? Computers are very conplex. I'm not saying it isn't server side, I'm saying its not likely. Relatively low probability. My computer occasionally has problems with youtube. Do I complain to them? No, since I know others have no problems, making it more likely for me to have the problem where I am.

I wasn't even talking to you anyways, so why are you taking it that way...?

I was going to reply to this in a non farcical manner, but I honestly can't think of a logical reply to such illogical reasoning...

^Pretty much sums it up.
