WWII Avro Lancaster ("Cookie" Blockbuster and "Grand Slam" Bomb configurations)

The Avro Lancaster is perhaps the most significant British bomber of the Second World War, built with the Handley Page Halifax to satisfy the RAF's needs for four-engined bombers. It was derived from the earlier two-engined Avro Manchester.

 

It comes with two bomb configurations, based on the actual Lancaster's loads at the war:

Cookie Blockbuster 

This bomb load was equipped with incendiaries and a much larger "Cookie" bomb which varied from 4,000 lb to 12,000 lb in weight.

In the replica, the "Cookie" is the last bomb to leave the bay, in the form of a 2.5m fuel tank.

Grand Slam

One of the heaviest bombs carried by the aircraft, weighing in at 22,000 lb.

Although it is 1.25 m in width, it's quite a lot of clipped fuel tanks (about 8, IIRC) packing quite a punch.

I think I'm yet to make a Dambuster, but it really won't do any damage to any wall on water.

Any feedback?

Looks good! How many Kerbals?

Also, maybe add a few pictures of it flying at night (I would get Hellblazer or somebody to photoshop them to make them easier to see). After all, it was a night bomber.

7 Kerbals. I actually had a lot of trouble setting it up since they were scattered across the aircraft with respect to their roles -- Pilot, navigator, rear gunner.. 

And that's actually a very good idea. It will suit the aircraft a lot. Did the Lancaster have lights?

On a combat mission over Germany? 

Hehehehehehe... Hehhe... Heh... Ha! 

No, lights would have made the bombers easier to spot, both by fighter interceptors, and by the ground installations (flak and spotlights). The navigator did have a light so he could few his charts more easily, but he operated behind blackout curtains so no light was visible from outside the aircraft. I would just forgo lights.

Dambuster bomb is going relatively well, it survives impact on the water, bounces and sinks. Just like the real one.
