1.25m heat shield contract problems

I'm having an issue with the test heat shield contract. I land in the water but cannot figure out how to run the test. I have tried multiple thing: pilot, engineer, mounting it on the bottom, mounting it on the top, mounting parachute radially... nothing happens when I click on the heat shield. I have right clicked, left clicked, right clicked my astronaut... cannot find the test option. Can someone help me?

The contextual menu is the menu you get when you right-click the part. There should be a "run test" button near the bottom of that contextual menu when you use the heat shield.

If you don't see that button with the 1.25m heat shield, then that is another problem. Could you post a screenshot of the contextual menu for the heat shield in water?

I was able to figure it out. I thought I had to EVA in order to perform the test, I didn't realize that I could test it while inside of the capsule. Glad I did this though, opened up a whole bunch of options I was unaware of
