In honor of SpaceX's successful vertical landing and recovery of their rocket stage last night, I give you the SpaceK #1...

It would have been nice to have add some suitable deployable landing legs and, strictly speaking, the flight of the lifter should have been suborbital and not used SRBs but we do what we can with what we have on Kerbin.

Pretty decent homage, but isn't the original a 3.7m beastie? I guess the whole point of KSP is that you don't have to work to terrestrial scales though

I used clipped landing legs on my new shepard, sgt_flyer also made some awesome grid fins for his soyuz

And SRB's not sure I noticed them on the falcon 9

Yea, the spirit is there of recovering the main booster but I had to make a couple of compromises...and it is just the #1!

Here's the #2. It looks better, is scaled a bit better and I've made a kinda lifelike capsule...
