Bandwidth is nice but when you are communicating over such long distances, you mainly need power and sensitive receiving equipment.

High Bandwidth is a massive benefit in long distance comms.

As bandwidth increases, channel capacity increases, reducing the effects of low signal to noise ratio.

What I think is most interesting is how whenever something is needed for a space flight project, the research used to put it in the space craft is then used to bring it to the consumer market. Without spaceflight, we wouldnt have many of the materials we have today. And cell phone cameras are a direct result of the experience from the Hubble.

Thanks for posting that! The whole thing flew by. The first half about the gyroscopes, and the second half about the software.

Part II, 7 minutes in is crazy, (don\'t want to spoil the suprise)

where they store the program in copper ropes of wire, with rings spread out along the rope. Strands of the copper rope going or not going through each ring would be a zero or one.

Also interesting is how they touch on the burdens this project placed on the people involved.

Anyway. Two thumbs up with tears at the end.
