With the recent acomplishments of SpaceX, I think we are due for an update.

The reddit man makes a good point, We should have a landing pad addition at the KSC. It could have 100% recovery and would make room for more milestones and contracts.

This on it's own could be a really quick update. Just a landing pad. Maybe in a later version there could be a system for recovering stages like SpaceX does.

So these are my rough thoughts. Discuss.

Yeah why not, it's a pretty good idea and a great way to save money!

On a side note may I ask if it's possible to use parachutes on the rockets rather than the way SpaceX lands it?

Yes! And it woudn't be distructible because the amount of funds spent on repairing that launchpad with attempts at 1st stage landing is insane.

Spacex can't use parachutes only as the stage won't survive reentry (they tried it on falcon 1) and if a big gust of wind it the pad just before landing...

Sea landing smashes the rocket and destroys the engines.

I think there's a second thread suggesting the same thing, but I do agree having a barge somewhere on the sea on the equator would be nice.

That would be neat, but I think the main attraction would be one at the space center.

Why not implement aomeing akin to FMRS in stock? So we can put a part on a stage, fly it back, and resume where we left off, although this may be very hard to code.

I think something like Never Unload would be easier to implement.

I think it should be Never Unload in Atmosphere, so Jool stations aren't loaded on a Duna mission.

Actually, the barge could be another easter egg. Or there could be one real, marked barge and an easter egg barge that's all destroyed and stuff.

I would love a landing pad. And maybe some contracts oriented towards landings, like bonuses for recovering stages or just contracts asking you to deorbit and land stuff on it, or asking you to do some Grasshopper-style missions
