More space vehicles that weren't built: X-20 Dyna-Soar and more. Has anyone modeled any of these, yet?

A proposed orbital nuclear battlestation shaped much like a flying saucer:

 

The Rhombus, powered by an enormous toroidal aerospike engine, some versions of which were intended to keep their drop tanks for use as aerodynamic aids:

This looks interesting. My google-fu is weak on the Rhombus though,...lots of rhombus shaped EVERYTHING, but no information on the ship in the bottom most picture. Do you have any links?

I did find some informative articles on aerospike engines that were well worth the read while searching though, so I consider it a win.

When you say model, you mean "made a working version in KSP" right?

The Rhombus was one funny looking ship. I can't imagine that to be aerodynamic at all, but since the whole thing is basically a giant engine...maybe it will still fly?

I like how some of them have stubby wings so on reentry, they can fly home backwards.

All of those VTVL SSTO designs are actually pretty cool. I doubt they could have been made SSTO with the materials of the day, but they would make a great reusable first stage.

Still reading the 'pmview' links, and I have to say, those guys weren't lacking in imagination :-) SO many great ideas for KSP,...like the Triamese ship that launches as one part and fly's back the two 'boosting' stages on jet engines, while the orbital portion goes in to space. Space is so cool!
