I wanna fly a plane on Laythe but...

Kinda. I can't establish orbit. I CAN get to Jool orbit, and the plane is actually orbiting escaping Jool atm I did get an encounter.

Well  then, problem solved :)

But seriously, if you're new to the game, you might want to read all the tons of stuff here about doing interplanetary trips and practice a few times on Duna before going to Jool.  Weird stuff happens when flying between Jool's moons and you'll be totally confused if you don't have a firm handle on the basic mechanics.

In the meantime, if you just want to fly a ship at any given planet, get the HyperEdit mod which can teleport ships to any orbit of any planet desired.  Why waste time and hassle actually flying it there if you're going to use infinite fuel anyway?  Besides, if you want to really design, build, and fly stuff that can make the trip without infinite fuel, it's a good idea to test it out before flying it out, and HyperEdit is good for that, too.
