Moho flyby

So I just visited Moho for the first time. I launched a probe fairly early on in career mode to fly by Moho, then go on to slingshot Eve (hoping for a cheap Sundive trajectory.)

Suddenly, Moho is no longer just a lump of rock in the tracking station. Definitely a future destination next time I fancy a challenge :D

Now the probe's primary mission is over, I did some maneuver plotting to see what else could be done with it. I knew that with a course correction at periapsis, it could be made to encounter Eve.

This is all well and good, but I already have a crewed mission on its way to the Purple Planet. But with a fairly large burn during the Eve encounter (using nearly all the remaining fuel) the probe will get close enough to Kerbol to get science at low altitude.

Total Delta-V needed: 1578. Total remaining on the probe: 1649. Perfect! But as there's only 2 materials bays and goo canisters, I'll have to sacrifice the 'Moho High' science to get 'Sun Low' results.

Be sure to read the thermometer when you get to low solar orbit (if you don't burn up first) :D.  And use the F11 heat overlay, too.  That sort of knowledge has a practical use in the game when designing ships, far more important than any science points you get.
