Continuous wobble under MechJeb control... HELP!

Recommended Posts

I'm currently running an ultralight lander to the surface of the Mun, using MechJeb to provide command and control abilities. However, it just keeps pitching and yawing, refusing to settle down and fly stable. I've got a very lightweight craft, but I doubt the reaction wheels are OP. Is there any way to force Mechjeb to slow down its response rate and/or its response force?

Look in the "attitude adjustment" MJ window, and play with the values there - A first try might be "use stock SAS".

Would this be a sensible thing to do for any MechJeb activity, e.g., "ascent assistance" for one, "maneuver planner" for another?

Depends how you define "sensible", and the craft in question. :P
It's going to have the same effect on any manoeuvre requiring MJ to assume or hold an attitude, most of the time I find the default values work just fine.
MJs attitude PID controller is self-tuning to a certain extent, but if that isn't working for a particular craft you can tune it manually in this window or fall back on the (somewhat more primitive) stock SAS.
