I used a slingshot maneuver around the Mun to get to Minmus, land, and then safely return. The album (imgur)

Not to mention that it was all stock save for r4m0n\'s camera mod.

I have never done a gravity assist...

neither have I gone to Minmus without Mechjeb.

I like to bring mech jeb along for the smart A.S.S feature to hold me steady during landings and burns, but I might try doing a trip without it for fun. I like the slingshot approach myself. For an added challenge, I might try to duplicate it on the return, though I\'ll have to change the lander/ascender fuel distribution.

Mostly, I am just enjoying the patched conics. Not sure if I would be able to even hit Minimus without that feature.
