Kerbal Rescue challenge

Recommended Posts

The challenge is to rescue a kerbal from anywhere. He/she can be anywhere, and further away means more points. Rules:

  • The kerbal must be alone with no ship.
  • The Kerbal must have been left at location. I'm okay with hyperedit, but do not have it installed when completing the challenge.
  • The rescue craft must be able to land.
  • All mods must be validated by me. Don't even bother with hyperedit.
  • Try to submit as an album, not a video. My internet just hates YouTube at the moment.
  • No infinite fuel.

Point modifiers:

  • Number of Kerbals rescued by one ship: +1 per Kerbal, +20 for the initial Kerbal. Yes folks, that means you can still get points in the event of a problem and you cannot rescue him.
  • Parts: +20 under 100 parts.
  • Planet:
    • x2 for Mun and Minmus, 1x for Kerbin
    • x5 for the four closest planets to Kerbin (Duna, Eve, Dres, Moho)
    • x10 for Eve Surface rescue
    • x10 for Jool and Eeloo (stock orbits) and x15 for all planets out side of this, for OPM users.
    • x3 for Sun rescue
    • x100 for GalacticNeighborhood rescue other than Kerbol.
  • x2 for spaceplanes
  • x5 if return for the Kerbal is in an External Command Seat.
  • x10 per planet if you take the Kerbal on a Grand tour after rescue.

Special Rescues:

Done before the challenge, @ihtoit rescued half a dozen kerbals and then rescued the rescue. True Story :)

Have fun, and do the challenge well.

do a Forum search for "Starflight One". I rescued half a dozen Kerbals in a time-critical mission (the ship they were in was on an unpowered swan-dive into the Sun with no way of docking and no comms). Then I had to send another ship to rescue the rescue ship because it ran out of fuel. The rescue rescue then made a Munar encounter and landed at KSC. Right before the Kraken got it.

Very cool mission, but I'm looking for new attempts. You will be mentioned in the OP as a special rescue.
