Flight report inaccuracy

So I've been doing some testing and the flight report seems to be inaccurately reporting G-Forces when compared to Kerbal Engineer.

Does anyone have any info on why this is/how this happens? Which is considered more accurate?

Yeah, I don't know how KSP tracks it, but the g-force meter and max speed and other stuff seems unreliable.

As does the distance..by almost half

A flag planted then driven away from will show say 30km distance on the HUD but if you end the drive or flight itll show 15km on the flight report.. A usual observation on the KSC-Mountain loop I commonly run as a shakedown

Never knew why this is.. Itd be nice to have accuracy.. Is it a bug or is flight report somehow using anothet source of data?

I'm not sure. It'd make sense if it was a bug, since I've always viewed that menu as kinda a bonus, not important for Squad to focus on.

Whenever I successfully launch a nuclear missile, it tells me it's a "catastrophic failure" when it's success.  Just kidding.  On a serious note, I think they haven't updated that at all since it was added.

Its important for many challenges... One of KSPs attractions so id say its important to fix
