adding mods

Recommended Posts

first I downloaded community tech tree, engineering tech tree and tech manager in game data, squad folder and still trying to figure it out why I still don't get the mods everytime I installed it. like fasa, near future constructions and solar, buffalo nasa, better science labs and so on. the only success downloaded mods I get is blackleg industries, orion monkey business and some of tantares stockalike Soyuz.

have I missed something?

Did you unpack the mods into the Squad folder? (I wasn't quite sure from your post).  If so then that's probably your problem, just unpack them into the GameData folder. Generally speaking each mod lives in it's own folder in GameData (sometimes a couple mods made by the same author will live in the same folder).

Another way of managing and installing mods is to use the CKAN mod manager and it will take care of where mods are installed and also makes sure that any dependencies for your mods are also installed.

my kerbal space program is 5-0-1, first I unpack mods to gamedata folder, then tried different methods like squad folder but to no luck. normally I add new folder/name in gamedata for each mods I extract the files to.

thanks for the CKAN mod manager and will let you know how I go.

First line of the first post brings you to the download page. It's not that hard to find.

okay, I extracted ckan mod manager on a new folder in KSP gamedata, and tried to ksp install one of the 70 mods from ckan package, no luck. can you help me out?

I was wondering while I like most mods from each downloads and want to clean out some, for example a download of SXT that includes planes which I don't have any use for it,  most names from the folders are different to the one in the game. sometimes I done it but some ended up white or black but not able to get rid of it all together. how do you do that?

it would be a great idea if there is one mods for each download like ckan and easily click along the list you like so not having to go through finding files after files to get rid of some you don't want to keep.
