NASA or NASCAR?

Imagine you and your space-exploring friends are out at a bar at Deimos Spaceport. After one too many drinks, one of your friends suggests that you and him should have a space race. From Earth to Luna and back as fast as possible. You go into the Atomic Rockets Inc. shipyard at Mercury, design for your Moon-racer in hand, and pay the rocket builders the money to build the ship you've made. In your imagination, what does the space ship look like? If you have a more custom idea, post a reply comment.

 

My space ship of choice is a black atomic rocketship, with big Wernher von Braun style fins, black paint on top, chrome-to-yellow-to-orange-to-red paint job going up, so the fins are chrome and the top is red. Should intimidate the heck out of my space-racing friend. Assuming of course his isn't even cooler. Or scarier.
