Exhaust getting reentry effects

I've occasionally encountered heat reentry effects showing up on the graphical display of engine exhaust at different camera angels upon looking close up at my craft when landing:

they go away upon zooming out enough and upon turning off the engines. Anyone else gotten this issue?
