Mod managers?

Are there 2015/2016 new Mod managers for KPS?I know of Ckan and KerbalAdmin Addon manager and Tinker time.I like them but the only problem is

not knowing if the dev quit working on them and or if they are not KSP version future proof.And another problem some use one or two websites and some do not.And some mods are not on Ckan.Is it safe to use other mod managers at the same time?Any suggestions?
