The Dainty Hippo! (A craft to write poems about)

Recommended Posts

Not long ago i sat in a dark room, the stress of designing a craft that would inspire the masses looming over me.. I drew and I drew, each design worse than the next, very few ever making it into prototype stage, and those that did rarely causing a flicker of interest. I sat this way for dozens upon dozens of minutes wondering just what to do! but alas, to no avail.

To calm my nerves and open my creative side I had a glass of chilled white wine, the cool liquid soothing all my woes.

One, then two, then three bottles later and I finally had it! The design of the century! A durable craft to be looked upon as strong, yet dainty and agile to cause sighs of pleasure and merriment to befall those that were entranced by its gorgeous flight.

It had not one set of wings, for those are far too simple, and not two; this wasn\'t to be a craft for just any uncivilized person to use. Three was far too mainstream, barely adequate to serve as the tail. This vehicle was to be special, unique! 5 sets of wings vertically stacked for maximum euphoria! My masterpiece was far too elegant to suffer a high speed impact with the harsh world; a stylish parachute was a must have!

I sat back and looked at my wondrous creation and knew that my purpose on this planet was fulfilled. I calmly walked to the window, thrust out my drawing, and proclaimed to the world..

BEHOLD THE DAINTY HIPPO!

In all honesty I wanted to stack an unreasonably fashionable amount of wings onto the plane and see how it handled, and surprisingly it was quite responsive and easy to handle. Dainty in nature, yet Hippopotamus-like in size and sheer awkwardness. I decided to spice things up I guess.. you can\'t restrain the inner poet I suppose!

Tips

ALWAYS hold down S when taking off otherwise the wings will become overly excited and try to befriend the ground in an explosion of love.

USE THE CHUTE to land or else suffer the same excitement involving the wings and its friend making habits.

Avoid breaks until absolutely necessary.

Don\'t question the odd aileron functionality. Just don\'t.

Stats

This bad boy can pull 180s when fiddled with appropriately, completely changing course (no loop, I swear! Its just hard to do purposefully...)

It can hop puddles better than any hippo you\'ve ever seen! (Made it across the ocean with 1.5 tanks per wing engine remaining, a whopping 500km!)

It also glides like a beautiful leaf in an autumn breeze minus the delicate landings, pretty colours and lack of control.

Mods

Requires the JellyCubes Mk2 Hull Bicoupler

There shouldn\'t be any other mods used, but if there is let me know and I\'ll either fix it or throw up links to the mods.

Thanks!
